Figure 2 Analysis of overall sales increase of Zhengzhou Yutong Buses in each length Jan.-Sept. 2009
It can be observed that:
a. Sales volume of Yutong bus fell 7.3% year on year, which was nearly 9% less decreased than the first eight months and nearly 6% less decreased than bus industry, indicating that Yutong, the leading bus brand, was also impacted by the financial crisis; in the meantime, the decrease of sales volumes in the first nine months was largely curbed, much better than average performance of domestic bus builders.
b. There are increases as well as decrease in all lengths. And 11~12-meter large buses saw the most decline 18.2%, nearly 7.5% less than the figure in the first eight months (-25.7%). It should be noted that 11~12-meter buses are traditional strong market for Yutong bus, and sales volume Jan.-March (-574 units) was down 37%, 5.7% less than average bus industry, Jan.- April (-1034 units)was down 38.9%, Jan.- May (-1038 units) was down 32%, 6% less than average bus industry, Jan.-June (-1172 units) was down 28.6%, nearly 10% less than average bus industry, Jan.- July (-1440 units) was down 30.1%, Jan.-August (-1639 units) was down 25.7%, Jan.-Sept (-1033 units) was down 18.2%. These figures indicate that sales volume in 11~12-meter large buses still declines but nearly 4.6% less than average bus industry. And sales volumes of 12-meter buses and 7~8-meter buses were both decreased by 16.5% which was slightly better than sales volumes in the first eight months.
c. As the leading bus builders in China, Yutong’s sales volumes in super large buses were down 16.5%, while the counterpart figure in bus industry was largely down by 40.56%, and this can fully reflect Yutong’s ability. Their sales volume in 9~10-meter, 8~9-meter and 6~7-meter all increased.
d. Sales volume of 11~12-meter (4646 units) was largely reduced, but it is still much better than King Long and Golden Dragon Bus, and the declining trend has been obviously controlled.

Figure 2 Analysis of overall sales increase of Zhengzhou Yutong Coach in each length Jan.-Sept. 2009
It can be observed that:
a. Sales volume of Yutong coaches was down 3.18%, nearly 9% less than average industry, adding that it declined 7.3% in the first nine months, indicated that sales decline of coaches was not the main reason for over decline of Yutong buses. And the decline amplitude was nearly 11% less than the figure in the first eight months.
b. Analysis of declining trend of various lengths of coaches: sales volumes of all lengths of coaches declined apart from 9~10-meter, 8~9-meter, and 6~7-meter. Sales volume of super large coaches declined 35.7%, 11~12-meter were down 8.4%, nearly 17% less than the first eight months, 10~11-meter were down 13.4%, 7~8-meter were down 13.7%, 9~10-meter were up 102.9%, 8~9-meter were up 7.1% and 6~7-meter were up 0.78%.

Figure 2 Analysis of overall sales increase of Yutong public transport bus in each length Jan.-Sept. 2009
It can be observed that:
a. Sales volume of public transport were down 20.4%, 4.6% less than the first eight months; sales volumes of bus industry were 16.5%, and that’s to say Yutong Bus’s sales volume were nearly 4% bigger than bus industry, and sales volume in the first nine months didn’t see any improving and it’s the main reason for the overall declining of Yutong bus, on the other hand, we can see that Yutong is adjusting its product structure biased towards coaches.
b. Sales volume of 11~12-meter public transport were (754 units) down 40.3%, 7.4% more than the figure in bus industry; however, sales volumes of super large public transport (26 units) increased by 26.9% but it decreased by 58.8% in the industry.
c. Sales volume of 9~10-meter public transport buses increased by 217% while it decreased for the industry.

It can be observed that:
Yutong sleeper buses are in monopoly in bus and coach industry. Sales volumes from Jan. to Sept were 1907 units, and Yutong itself sold 978 units, down 4.3% year on year, which was 51.3% of market share.
a. Sales volumes in the first nine months were 978 units, 51.3% of industry figure of 1907 units, and last year the figure was 1022, 49.7% of total sales volumes in bus and coach industry. The uprising figure (+1.6%) show that Yutong’s monopoly position in sleeper buses are getting stronger and it contributes a lot in the overall profits growth.
b. Yutong sleeper buses are mainly 11~12-meter buses, and medium-sezed buses have already been eliminated. Sales volume of super large sleeper buses were 50 units, 4 units less than the same perild of last year; the growth amplitude was doen 7.4%, and it was increasing for the bus industry.
