Summarize:According to the latest statistics released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), China sold 38,100 units large-, medium-sized and light buses in July, down by 14.04% month on month and up by 31.2% year on year. The top 10 players in the bus market in July were JMC (6,743 units), Chang’an (6,158 units), SAIC Maxus (5,994 units), Foton (3,731 units), Yutong (3,675 units), Nanjing Iveco (2,201 units), JAC (1,955 units), Golden Dragon (1,191 units), Higer (1,070 units) and Dongfeng (951 units).
Also in July, China exported 9,623 units buses to the overseas market, up by 110% year on year and up by 3.99% month on month. Compared with the growth rate of 31.2% of the overall bus market, the bus export market fared much better.
The top 10 players in the bus market in the first seven months this year were Chang’an (46,700 units), SAIC Maxus (44,400 units), JMC (39,100 units), Foton (33,900 units), Yutong (18,800 units), Nanjing Iveco (17,700 units), JAC (11,800 units), King Long (8,200 units), Golden Dragon (7,300 units) and Higer (6,000 units).
In the first seven months this year, China’s export volume of buses reached 60,800 units, up by 98.14% year on year, which is far higher than the overall growth rate of 25.68% of the bus market in the same period.
The diesel, gasoline and new energy powered buses were the main players in the market in the first seven months this year. For the detailed information, please refer to Table 3 below.

From January to July this year, China sold 197,000 units buses in the domestic market. The top ten markets were Jiangsu (25,200 units), Zhejiang (15,500 units), Shandong (13,200 units), Beijing (11,400 units), Guangdong (10,800 units), Henan (10,400 units), Sichuan (9,400 units), Chongqing (9,300 units), Hubei (8,600 units) and Hebei (7,900 units). The combined sales in the top ten market stood at 121,700 units, accounting for 47.22% of the overall bus sales in the same period.
From January to July this year, China’s sales volume of large-, medium-sized and light buses stood at 257,800 units, up by 25.68% year on year and showing signs of recovery compared with the growth rate of 24.76% recorded in the first half of this year.
