29 months later, 600 Higer buses finally delivered to Syria successfully
In the middle of October 2007, Higer Bus Company Limited signed the contract with Zhe’jiang TS Company Limited for exporting 600 city buses to Syria. By then, the two years waiting could be ended up with a thoroughly consummation.
In spite of the rejoicing, HIGER felts very stressful though. Since the bid project of Syrian government was a big challenge both for the capability and the quality of Higer Bus, it had drawn great attention of Higer’s senior administration from the very beginning. The vice-president of Higer, Mr. Huang attended the early negotiations. He even traveled to Syria himself to meet cooperators, and took part in various coordinating conferences.
According to the contract, the two model buses should be warehoused and accept inspection of the Ministry of Communication of Syria. In order to meet requirements of the bidding project, we had to develop a new model, KLQ6950. Due to the urgency of the delivery, Mr.Lijiang, the director assistant of R&D center, in charge of city bus design, together with overseas department, reconfirmed the bus configurations for the faultless products. Besides, the R&D center dedicated into the development of the new model and had accomplished the design by the end of October, which meant a new model design cost us only two weeks! On November 27th, everything was ready and the new model buses started to be assembled. By December 10th, the two model buses had been completed and entered the warehouse waiting for inspection of the Ministry of Communication of Syria.
The Syrian delegation’s visit to Higer in middle of December had to be delayed for a month owing to certain reasons. Before the arrival of Syrian delegation, the vice-president Mr. Huang communicated with Zhe’jiang TS Company about arrangements of the reception plan. On January 10th 2008, the Syrian delegation arrived. After a brief welcome ceremony, the staff began to be engaged busily in bus checking and acceptance.
During the acceptance, HIGER needs to check the buses outside. The harsh climate hindered the task from be proceeding. However,Mr. Lijiang,Mr. Zheng Chunhui, from overseas department and other industrious workers worked with the Syrian in full process regardless of chilliness. At last, on January 18th, the acceptance was o be done with signing acceptance of prototype. The principal of the Ministry of Communication of Syria, in charge of the acceptance, conveyed his compliments of exquisite appearance and considerate configuration of the prototype beyond the expectations of Syrian, which they were really satisfied with.
After the acceptance of the prototype, the following batch of buses began to be assembled. According to the schedule, the first batch of 118 units was delivered on April 10th, and the second batch of 270 units on April 24th. The last batch of 212 units would be delivered before the end of May.
The successful implementation of the contract of 600 buses exporting to Syria was owing to the corporately arduous effort made by the countless Higer staff, including the senior administration as well as the front line workers.
Nowadays, with spring shining and flowers smiling, the Higer bus set off one by one to the remote beach of Mediterranean Sea, and their green bodies will also take our expectation and outlook on the way. At this moment, a scene may emerge in Higer people’s mind that the lovely and friendly Higer buses are running, dancing and singing in the roads of Syria. It makes us feel that all our devotion and dedication is worthwhile. Higer takes everyone higher!
