China's leading bus manufacturer HIGER is mulling a plan to increase its export amount, and the main export destination is said to be Russia.
Sheng Guoqiang, HIGER BUS's sales vice manager introduced when interviewed by reporter that HIGER has totally sold 16,090 buses in 2007, and realized sales revenue RMB4.664 billion, of which 2,842 units bus have been exported to overseas and export amount attained 173 million U.S. dollars. Export sales accounted for nearly 30% of total sales share. HIGER bus have been mainly exported to Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, Russia, and Eastern Europe etc. "We are planing to increase the export volume to half of the total sales." Sheng said.
According to introduction, aiming at Russia and Eastern Europe market, HIGER has already sent a large number of sales and customer service staff to Russia, set uo local office and recruit Russian distributors in Russia. At present, HIGER sales yearly 1,200 units buses to Russia.
Statistics show Russia is expected to be the biggest auto market in Europe until 2010 and China had exported more than 50,000 whole automobiles to Russia in 2007. Russia has now become the biggest overseas automobile market for China.
