Last year, China's light bus market was extremely strong, sales of 230,707 (including a complete non-vehicle) made year-on-year increase of 22.73 percent. The good momentum continued into the first half of this year. The second half of the year, overall vehicle market turned cold, so did the light bus market. In the 3rd quarter, light bus (including a complete non-vehicle) sales fell 16.9 percent year-on-year.
Jiangling Motors Sales Corp. general manager Ye Ming believed, the decline of light bus market in the 3rd quarter was mainly for dragging back of light chassis. He said: "Since the implementation of the country Ⅲ emission standards, light chassis product sales from July showed a serious decline, resulting the sales of entire light bus market dropped in the 3rd quarter."
Nanjing Iveco Automobile Co., Ltd. Product Director Lin Wei told reporters, with the exception of chassis products, sales of light bus in the 3rd quarter increased only about 300 than the same period last year. In his view, a small amount of growth in light bus does not reflect the true market situation. "September, 1000 Gold Cup light-buses exported to Russia. If you do not have these1000 buses, light bus market before the 9 months is a negative growth."
All these unfavorable factors lead the light bus market into cold in the third quarter. Currently, these negative factors have not disappeared. As a result, many enterprises in the fourth quarter are not optimistic about the prospects.
