As the global economic recession is still unfolding, China is faced up with mounting pressure to solve a slew of domestic issues, including economic slowdown, rising unemployed population, and sharp decline of import & export volume, etc. Against such a backdrop, this year’s NPC & CPPCC sessions have grabbed unprecedented media attention from both home and abroad. To spur domestic demand and keep relatively fast growth, the delegates of NPC & CPPCC are expected to work out a series of measures to tide over the current economic slowdown and keep Chinese economy on a stable and fast track. Will China’s auto industry, one of the pillars in national economy, continue its robustly growing trend? The answer should be a resounding YES.
Since the end of 2008, Beijing has rolled out a string of policies to boost the economic growth, including the scrapping of road tolls and halving of the sales tax on vehicles with engines less than 1.6 liters, etc. The “Vehicle Going to Rural Area” policy, which took effect on Mar. 1, 2009, has detonated the huge potential market in rural areas and provided lucrative business opportunities for indigenous builders of passenger cars. The Restructuring and Revitalization of Logistic Industry, which came out lately, is surely to bring encouraging news to commercial vehicle builders.
With good news coming from the government one after another, automakers, especially coach builders, should still keep a highly vigilant eye for the constantly changing market trend, adjust their development strategies in a timely manner and strengthen their corporate management. Bear in mind that crises always go hand in hand with opportunities. History has shown us again and again that a new round of industrial transformation is following the steps of global economic recession. As the favorable policies go to effect one after another, it is now the turn for the coach builders to take even bolder yet steady steps to move forward and foster a stronger hold in the marketplace.
