Despite of the international economic downtown, China’s stimulus package has already shown some positive effects. LI Jindian, an NPC deputy and President of Liaoning SG Automotive Group Co., Ltd. recently revealed during the NPC and CPPCC sessions that SG Group’s idle production capacity has been once again set in motion since Feb. this year and its workers are now working against the time to satisfy the market demand. Both the company’s production and sales volumes have seen an over 30% increase.
In response to the government’s favorable policies, SG Group worked out a series of measures to downsize its costs and adjust its product spectrum. Last year alone, the company launched a trial production of new energy vehicles, including hybrid ones, electric ones and ultra-capacitor ones. In addition, the group is planning to roll out a large number of affordable vehicles catering to the rural customers in this coming April.
Full of confidence, LI Jindian told reporter that the company is now quite prepared to beat against the economic downturn. “I believe it is practicable that our country is aiming at an 8% GDP growth in 2009, so our company is striving for a 10% growth in terms of production and sales volume this year,”LI was quoted as saying.
