Mar. 18, 2009: Chengdu Economic Development Zone Investment Seminar & Project Signing Ceremony was held in Longquan, in Sichuan Province. Youngman Neoplan’s luxury coach production base immediately attracted media attention. To attend the ceremony, Youngman Neoplan allocated two high-end coaches from Zhejiang to the occasion, one of which with a super-large size and a 25-meter long body frame, reportedly worth RMB 3 million (about USD 439,000), has wowed a number of local citizens.
According to LI Xianping, Vice-President of Youngman Group, Longquan has a favorable soft and hard environment and the economic zone boasts a mature automobile industry concentration area. Thanks to these factors, Youngman Neoplan’s project, with a total investment of RMB 1 billion (about USD 146 million) is expected to focus on producing 12-meter and 18-meter luxury coaches. With a projected annual production capacity of 3,000 units and the average price for each over RMB 1 million (about USD 146,396), it chiefly targets the luxury coach market in west China.
