March 24, 2009: during Beijing Olympic Games last August, Ankai sent its battery electric coaches, HFF6127K46EV, to serve athletes and officials from various parts of the world and has done an excellent PR job thanks to such features as zero emission and low noise level of the new coach model.
In early March 2009, at the sessions of NPC and CPPCC, deemed as two top level political events in China, Ankai's battery electric coaches again appeared quite frequently near the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to serve delegates from across the nation.
ZHU Shuzeng, an official with Shouqi Group, a well-known carrier provider in the capital, revealed that the coach model from Ankai is the only one powered by new energy in the coach fleet during the sessions of NPC and CPPCC and its energy consumption per 100 kilometers is only about one third of the traditional coaches mounted with diesel engines, thus can cut the fuel costs remarkably.
According to the company, its HFF6127K46EV model has adopted the third generation technologies in the area of battery electric vehicles (BEV) and is jointly powered by lithium iron phosphate battery and ultra-capacitor. In addition, the coach boasts a maximum speed of 130 kilometer per hour and can be easily recharged in less than four hours. Thanks to these advantages, the model has already met the requirements for commercial operation.
