Although the global auto market is experiencing "cold winter", it seems that the "cold snap" has not affected such a mini-auto manufacturer located in a small city of South China. With the officially approved of relative detailed rules on "autos going to the countryside" recently, RMB5 billion yuan subsidy has been earmarked and the rural auto market will become a segment market with the greatest development potential this year.

On February 24, 2009, the eastern assembly workshop of Liuzhou SGMW appeared a busy scene. A production line which has once been stopped to use due to its low efficiency began to debug again three days ago. "Therefore, we have recruited a batch of workers; otherwise, we should have been too busy to finish the work." Huang Yizhong, Manager of the eastern assembly workshop, expressed with excitement. Despite SGMW has put into high gear currently, the output capacity still need to be improved indeed. Cai Yanan, Administrative and P.R. Director of the company, told the reporter that the company had achieved zero storage. Every day, once autos are off production lines, they will be directly sent every where. "We are even considering whether we need to rent warehouses." As introduced, the planned production and sales goal of SGMW is 700, 000 autos.

Lay out the rural market and play service cards skillfully

SGMW has attached great importance to the expansion of the rural market very early. In the past few years, the network channel construction and consummation has been implemented in the secondary and tertiary cities and in the county and township levels. At present, SGMW has 845 sales outlets and 1,006 service outlets. The coverage rate in the prefecture-level cities countrywide is around 90 percent and in China's over 2,000 administrative counties, the coverage rate is 28 percent. In some developed areas, the coverage rate in the county-level market even exceeds 50 percent. With the further improvement of the sales network coverage, SGMW also observantly found out an issue that even though the county-level network, even the town-level network, is spread in a large scale, the sales volume in main markets will not be affected. "Therefore, the potential in the rural market still needs digging further." Yang Jie, Marketing Director of SGMW, believed it without a doubt.
