Energy-Saving & New Energy Vehicle Industrial Alliance Set up in Chongqing

On Jun. 2, 2009, initiated by Changan Automobile Group, China Automotive Engineering Research Institute (CAERI), Hengtong Bus, and Chongqing Energy Investment Co., etc., Energy-Saving & New Energy Vehicle Industrial Alliance comprised of over 30 complete vehicle builders, manufacturers of parts & accessories, science & technology institutes and end users was officially established in Chongqing. XU Liuping, president of Changan Automobile Group was unanimously elected as the first Director General of the Alliance.

The new born alliance has integrated the strengths of those enterprises involved in new energy area, laying a solid foundation for the nurturing of new energy vehicle market in southwest China. In a new era of “green vehicles”, Chongqing municipality is now actively taking various measures to upgrade its green technologies in a bid to spearhead the new revolution in the auto industry.

 

On the same day of its establishment, the alliance released its declaration calling for more efforts should be made to create new opportunities for businesses to deepen cooperation and strengthen technological exchange.
