English.chinabuses.com: Dalian, the port city in northeast China’s Liaoning Province will host the third World Economic Forum (WEF) New Champions meeting in early Sept. 2009. The meeting, also widely known as Summer Davos as opposed to the winter Davos that is held annually in the small town in Switzerland, is now sending an explicit message that China has sent to the world – as one of the most influential emerging markets and driving engines of the world economy, China has changed, is changing and will continue to change the global economic landscape. Amid the ongoing worldwide financial crisis, this year’s economic forum is expected to grab unprecedented media and public attention.

To better server the delegate and showcase China’s strengths in new energy vehicles, Dalian has placed an order of ten Ankai all-electric luxury buses. After the meeting, the new bus fleet will be put into commercial operation in the city as one important step forward for its demonstration campaign of energy-saving and new-energy vehicles launched by the government in thirteen first-layer cities across China.
An official with Dalian Public Transport Group, a bus operator, which will become the owner of the emission-free bus fleet, disclosed recently that the company now has nearly 20 units of Ankai branded buses. Thanks to their impressive reliability and drivability, Ankai buses have successfully managed to make their way at a number of high-profile events in China and have gained deep trust from bus operators. Given above, the company finally chose to purchase ten all-electric buses for the upcoming event.
