The current ongoing global financial crisis has brought significant adverse impacts on China’s bus & coach industry. As of May 31st, the overall sales volume of buses in China dropped by over 30%. Under such a backdrop, Mr. Luc Glorieux, the founder of Busworld Exhibition, paid a special visit to China and received warm welcome in every place he visited. In order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the status quo of China’s bus & coach industry, Mr. Luc Glorieux visited ten bus & coach builders across China. While bringing the latest development trend in the global bus & coach market, he also shared his thought-provoking insights with every enterprise on how to combat the current financial turmoil and grow even stronger through the unprecedented challenges.

Mr. Luc Glorieux made a key-note speech at the kick-off meeting in Beijing

In Jun., China’s bus & coach industry showed some visible signs of recovery. A host of businesses involved in this sector also expressed their confidence in the sound and fast development of China’s bus & coach industry in the near future. Given this, we have every reason to believe that the sector will embrace a even brighter future in years to come. In face of the current difficulties, China’s bus & coach builders has not slackened their efforts to strive forward. Instead, they have been constantly seeking new opportunities to hold more strategic positions after the financial storm.

On Jun. 25, 2009, Busworld Asia 2010 convened its kick-off meeting in Beijing. After receiving a number of proposals from exhibitors, the organizing committee of Busworld Asia added some new features to the next big event for the global bus & coach industry held in Shanghai New International Expo Center from May 6th to 8th, 2010.

World Expo 2010, New Business Opportunities

Shanghai World Expo will officially kick off on May 1st, 2010. It is expected that over 70 million visitors and exhibitors and representatives from 243 countries and regions across the globe will participate in the high-profile six-month-long event. To better highlight the theme “Better City, Better Life” of the 2010 World Expo, Busworld Asia will give special emphasis to the state-of-art technologies developed for high energy efficiency and emission reduction in China’s new energy buses & coaches sector. At the exhibition, it is expected that a host of eco-friendly buses and coaches branded with big names from all over the world will make their debut at the exhibition.

Day of China to Feature on Busworld Europe 2009

Hosted by B.A.A.V. (Beroepsvereniging van Autobus- en Autocarondernemers van West-Vlaanderen), Busworld Europe 2009 will open to the public from Oct. 16th to 21st this year in Kortrijk, Belgium. As the most influential event in the global bus & coach sector, worldwide big names involved in the bus & coach building and operating sectors will once again gather in the small European town. On Oct. 17, special activities will be held to mark the “Day of China”, a new feature of the event that aims to add more Chinese elements into the world-class exhibition and create a new platform for Chinese enterprises to have face-to-face communications with their international counterparts, bus operators and overseas media.

Bus Operators’ Gathering Place

During the Busworld Asia 2010, B.A.A.V will host International Conference on Bus and Bus Operation in partnership with International Road Transportation Union (IRU) and China Urban Transportation Association. Several seminars will be held on such hot topics as new energy buses, energy efficiency and emission reduction. Experts in bus & coach sector, representatives from enterprises and officials from related government agencies are expected to give key-note speeches on various fields, thus providing a great opportunity for China’s bus & coach builders to feel the new pulse in the global market.

Glory and Dream of China’s Bus & Coach Industry

Since its debut in Shanghai in 2001, Busworld Asia has been held in China for nine consecutive years. The next year will mark the tenth anniversary of the entry of big event in the world’s fastest growing economy. Still in its fledging stage, China’s bus & coach sector has witnessed a spectacular growth in the past decade by constantly narrowing the development gap with the first-class players in the international market. Buses and coaches made in China with their unique features have gradually become an increasingly visible presence in the global market. Since 2001, Busworld Asia, as a trade show, has provided a great platform to promote Chinese bus & coach brands. A grand ceremony under the name of “Night of China’s Bus & Coach” will be held to celebrate the significant progress made by the still quite young industry. Guided by original spirit and global vision, China will continue to pursue a new path in its bus & coach industry. Just as Mr. Luc Glorieux has firmly believed that the future of world bus & coach industry lies in China, we have every reason to believe that China’s bus & coach industry will become even stronger after the financial crisis.
