English.chinabuses.com: according to the statistics newly released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the sales volume of buses and trailers in Jun. registered the fastest growth rate since the start of this year. However, the CKD trucks still failed to reverse their declining trend. Compared with the same period last year, the sales of CKD trucks and buses went up and the production volume of buses rose slightly. However, the sales of CKD trailers and trucks still dropped remarkably.

To be specific, last month, the production and sales volume of buses reached 24,800 and 23,600 units respectively, up by 18.37% and 15.41% m/m respectively. Moreover, the production volume went up by 2.02% y/y while the sales volume down by 9.07% y/y. In the same time, the production and sales volume of trucks stood at 168,300 and 179,100 units respectively, down by 15.77% and 11.96% m/m respectively, but up by 20.92% and 23.50% y/y respectively.

According to CAAM, in the first half of 2009, the top ten best-performing enterprises in China’s commercial vehicle industry are Beiqi Foton, Dongfeng, FAW, JAC, Chongqing Changan, Jinbei, Sinotruck, JMC, Kama, SAIC-GM-Wuling. Compared with the same period last year, Dongfeng and FAW posted the biggest drop while JAC and Sinotruck went down slightly. The other companies all registered some rises in the sales volume. Among them, Kama and SAIC-GM-Wuling posted the fastest growth.

According to WANG Qingtao, an analyst with First Entrepreneurial Research Institute, the commercial vehicle market may be well on its  to recovery thanks to the recovering export market, the upcoming summer travel season and the new round of city bus replacement. The analyst also believes that the long-distance coach market may witness some seasonal growth due to the travel peak season and the home-returning mobile labors in latter half of this year.
