English.chinabuses.com: before 2008, Suzhou Higer Bus Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Suzhou Higer) had always been thinking hard about an efficient way to educate the bus drivers and operators about the safety and help drivers obtain new skills to operate buses in a safer manner. In the past, it used to solely focus on improving the reliability of its products. However, after some meticulous research, the company found that over 90% of bus accident is chiefly caused by a lack of safety awareness of the bus driver. Given this, Suzhou Higer realizes that apart from improving the safety standards of its products, it should also shoulder the responsibility of educating customers about the importance of safe driving.
In 2008, Suzhou Higer toured around China and held a number of Higer Bus Safety Lectures, which immediately became a sold-out success. Seeing the popularity of the lecture, even some local transportation bureaus started inviting the bus builder to give trainings to local bus operators.
In 2009, Suzhou Higer is faced with two major challenges. One is to push forward its going-abroad campaign amid the bleak global bus market. The other is to cultivate a deeper understanding of safe bus driving attitude among bus drivers.
To make it attractive and interesting, this year’s Higer Safety Lecture features unveiling of Higer’s new logo, training sessions for both bus operators and bus drivers, Q&A programs to enhance driver’s safe driving skills.
After attending the lecture, SHANG Liang, Assistant to the General Manager of Henan Xinyang Transportation Group remarked, “I can definitely feel that Higer has done a lot of hard work to promote an awareness of safe driving and improve drivers’ bus driving skills. Moreover, as a bus operator, we gained a lot in terms of safety management of our bus fleet. Through some concrete data and specific case, we are prompted to work out some innovative ways to improve our management so as to prevent future bus accident caused by negligence.”
Through constant self-innovation and cooperation with international bus giant Scania, Suzhou Higer has established 5A Throughout Safe Driving System, which is sub-divided into safe operation, safe pre-caution, safe prevention, safe risk-avoidance and safe accident-dealing. The system has set up a new standard for China’s bus & coach industry and differentiates Suzhou Higer as a new leader in this regard.
