English.chinabuses.com: Nanjing Iveco's electric minibus has been eventually put into practical use after about a year of R&D endeavor. Since a couple of months, ten of these new energy vehicles featured with a zero-emission and pollution-free driveline have been used as the official service buses by a Chinese authority.

As the first China-made light commercial vehicle equipped with total electric-driven technology, the Iveco electric light bus looks almost the same as the brand's common model. The very key difference lies in the energy it uses - the traditional diesel is replaced by renewable, zero-emission and pollution-free electric power.

Next to its environmental advantage, the Iveco electric light bus outperforms common light buses in energy-efficiency as well. For every hundred kilometers of driving the vehicle consumes approximately 40 KWH electricity, which is equal to a consumption of five liters of fuel by a combustion engine, according to the manufacturer. The company also claims a radius of action of 220 kilometers for each battery charge.
