In June 2009, the production and sale of China's commercial vehicles reached 254.5 thousand sets and 269.2 thousand sets respectively, representing 11.04 percent and 8.34 percent increases respectively over the same period last year. Viewing from the year-on-year data, the growth has been more than that in the same period last year for consecutive three months and poses higher trend from month to month. If taking account of the overall situation in the first half of this year, the production and sale of commercial vehicles is 1.5719 million sets and 1.565 million sets respectively with the output up 1.64 percent while the sales volume down 0.52 percent on the year on year basis. As for the specified auto types, in addition to the truck which kept a stable increase in the first half of this year, others still witnessed downcast as a whole, and the decline of motorbus was especially obvious.
Although the commercial vehicle market has not yet been warmed up completely, the latest data shows that the worst time for commercial vehicle has passed, and compared with the sharp decline in the production and sale in the early of this year, the market is going well. Additionally, the 3-straight-month year-on-year growth does not only indicate the increasing demands for logistics, but also account that such incentive policies as "Autos going to the countryside" and "New-replacing-old autos" subsidy have taken initial effect in the commercial vehicle market. A portfolio of supportive policies promotes the former sluggish commercial vehicle market to enhance the force of rebound.
The auto types covered under the subsidy policies are continually extended in terms of either the coverage or amount, which led to significant effect on the sales of light/middle trucks and light/middle passenger cars. One of the powerful evidences is that the mini trucks contributed most to the truck market that climbed up stably in the first half of this year. In addition, the improved subsidy strength will promote those main business auto enterprises distinctly.
In the face of the market waiting for recovery, a lot of domestic business enterprises do not stay on passively for government's policy supports, but take active actions for change and development to expand the market. In the course of business-auto enterprises trying to break through the predicament, news about joint venture and cooperation comes to light successively.
The cooperation between Foton Motor and Weichai Power evidences such an effort that complete-vehicle enterprises and parts and accessories enterprises integrate the industrial chain resource at the upstream and downstream to realize mutual resource complement and communion and advance both parties' competitive capacities.
The commercial vehicle market is warming up gradually. The 3-straight-month year-on-year growth does not only indicate the increasing demands for logistics, but also account that such incentive policies as "Autos going to the countryside" and "New-replacing-old autos" subsidy have taken initial effect in the commercial vehicle market.
Commercial vehicle enterprises are taking active actions to deal with existing difficulties by various manners like win-win co-operation and integrated development.
