Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Motor Corp., and China FAW Group Corp. became the three largest commercial vehicle producers in China in terms of the total sales from January to July, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
 

The other leading commercial vehicle producers were Anhui Jianghuai Automotive Group, Chang'an Automobile Group, Shenyang Jinbei Automotive Co., Ltd., China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. (Sinotruk), Jiangling Motors Corporation Ltd., Shandong KAMA Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd, and SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. (SGMW).

 

The top ten commercial vehicle manufacturers sold 1.264 million commercial vehicles, accounting for 70 percent of the total commercial vehicle sales across the country, thanks to the recovering auto industry.

 

From January to July, the commercial vehicle production and sales separately amounted to 1.8312 million and 1.818 million in China, up 7.14 and 5.47 percent from a year earlier.

 

In July alone, the two indicators stood at 259,300 and 253,000 with a surge of 38.74 and 44.19 percent from a year earlier but a fall of 1.9 and 6.03 percent from a month earlier, respectively.

 

Its passenger car output hit 850,300 and sales volume 832,600, rising 56.78 and 70.54 percent year on year but declining 5.38 and 4.62 percent month on month.

 

China saw a total auto sales volume of 1.0856 million, surging 63.57 percent year on year but slipping 4.95 percent month on month. Its auto output reached 1.1096 million, soaring 52.15 percent on a yearly basis but decreasing 3.77 percent on a monthly basis.

 

In terms of July sales, the country's top five automakers were SAIC Motor Corporation Ltd., Dongfeng Motor, FAW Group, Chang'an Automobile Group, and Beijing Automotive Industry Corp.

 

FAW Group sold 157,000 vehicles, outpacing its plan by 7,038 ones and soaring 45.3 percent from a year earlier. In particular, it sold 15,143 heavy trucks, hiking 91.6 percent.

 

FAW Jiefang Automotive Co., Ltd. under its wing sold 14,000 vehicles, rocketing 117 percent and driving up its market share by 4.7 percent. The sales volume of Jiefang J6 surpassed 1,000 as usual, and that of light vehicles hit 6,624 with a growth of 34.6 percent.

 

Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd., under the aegis of Dongfeng Motor, sold 15,737 vehicles in July along with its affiliates, and the aggregate sales volume by the month amounted to 110,634 with a 3.84 percent fall from a year earlier.

 

It sold 11,288 light-duty vehicles last month, and the aggregate sales volume by then stepped down 8.66 percent year on year to 78,967.
