JAC with BYD Plan to March into Brazil Market

English.chinabuses.com: After Chery sedan officially launched into Brazil market, Chinese BYD with China's Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co Ltd（hereinafter referred to as JAC）, a leading bus chassis manufacturer, speed their pace to Brazil, aiming its commercial vehicle market.

 

According to the resource, BYD with JAC are considering exporting complete commercial vehicles to Brazil at the first phase, and setting up vehicle plants in Brazil to realize the local production in 2011.

 

At present, the Brazilian government imposes 35% import tariffs on complete vehicles. It will significantly improve its cost structure if BYD with JAC build CKD assembly production line in Brazil plant. However they also facing the high pressure from some international competitors, including Volvo, Scania, Man and other auto giants, which had already build plant in Brazil.
