www.chinabuses.org: Recently, Chinese automakers celebrated their production of the 10 millionth vehicle in Changchun, Jilin province. Only about half a century after its first vehicle rolled off the production line, China becomes the third country in the world to boast an annual auto output of more than 10 million. This milestone represents a remarkable achievement of industrial development.
Behind the glory, China auto industry needs to think more about its future. Experts say Chinese automakers should not take the current robust domestic demand as a guarantee to ensure their future success. They must make their growing manufacturing capacity as the stepping stone to develop new models, such as pure electric auto, hybrid auto, etc. That can better meet the need to save energy and protect the environment.
In the future, to measure an automaker’s competitiveness, it may be not fully depend on its total production capacity. It needs to see the market share of its green autos. Chinese automakers should definitely stick on the green track to go on.
