Weichai Power Strategy in 2010: Forge Equipment Engine “Aircraft Carrier”

www.chinabuses.org: The annual Weichai Power Business Conference used to be held in its base, Weifang in Shandong province, but this year, it moved to the provincial capital, Jinan. When our journalist arrived at Jinan railway station on December 6, 2009, lots of dealers and suppliers stuffed in the reception hall.
Weichai Power Business Conference was held as schedule in Shandong Plaza on December 7, 2009. Two hundred of the over two thousand guests are dealers and suppliers from over thirty-six countries and regions. And simultaneous interpretation for English, French and German were prepared.
Themed as “Cooperation and Innovation to serve the global”, Tan Xuguang, chairman of Weichai Power showed some statistics:Annual operation revenue of Weichai Power Group is predicted as 54,000,000,000 renminbi (about 7,907,000,000USD), up 40% year on year; total profits are over 4 billion renminbi (about 585,000,000USD), up 40% year on year.
Their exports were also increasing in 2009: 22,000 engines were exported, taking 52.4% of equipment industry share, higher than that of the figure last year which was 44.6%. Seventy authorized Maintenance Service Station were established in Commonwealth of Independent States, Africa, Southeast Asia and Middle East etc. with preliminary power and ability to serve the globe.
According to the program announced in 2010 Business Conference, Weichai Power is going to achieve sales revenues of 70 billion yuan (about 10,250,000,000 USD), including one billion USD export revenues. Weichai Group made development program in the following three to five years, that is producing and selling one million engines, 150,000 heavy trucks, one million heavy transmission for commercial vehicles to forge their core position in power system and to improve their after-sales services of automotive electronics as well as auto parts and try to make efforts to be listed in top 500 enterprises all over the world.
