Two Grid Giants Launches Establishment of Electric Charging Station

www.chinabuses.org: It’s learned from State Grid that they are planning to set up electric charging stations extensively in 2010 and China Southern Power Grid also unveiled views to support development of new energy, including supporting facility of electric vehicles.

 

And it predicts that related departments will also unveil more policies to encourage development of new energy vehicles.

 

Liu Zhenya, general manager of State Grid said that they will follow development trend of electric vehicles closely this year to promote establishment of charging facilities. And State Grid will start to establish charging stations in 27 domestic cities.

 

Shanghai Caoxi charging station, the first domestic electric charging station, has already been inspected and accepted. The charging station is about 400 square meters with investment of 5,080,000 yuan (743,000 USD), and four roadside charging stations and nine charging stalls were set.

 

And another grid giant, China Southern Power Grid, has also launched decisions to develop new energy industry. And they also have plans to set up charging stations in many cities. The first batch of two charging stations was finished in Shenzhen with total charging volumes amounting to 2,480 KVA.

 

Southern Power Grid has placed Shenzhen as the first batch of experimental city. As many as 24,000 units, including hybrid vehicles, pure electric vehicles and CNG vehicles, will be put into use by 2012, and the figure will achieve 100,000 units by 2015, above 6% of vehicle populations in Shenzhen.
