Hefei Starts the First Electric Bus Line in China

www.chinabuses.org: In the afternoon of 23 Jan. 2010, the starting ceremony of the demonstration operation of Hefei(Anhui, China) pure electric buses was held on the public square in the Administrative & Cultural New Area, which marked the opening of the our first electric bus line in Hefei.

Currently, there are many cities with electric buses in the world, and most of which apply the both traditional and electric buses. Hefei No. 18 electric bus line was also the first line full of electric buses in operation in the world.
It is known that the first 30 buses will be used in No. 18 bus line with 17.5 kilometers(km) for single pass from Binhu New Area to Administrative New Area with one way ticket of about 0.15USD. Meanwhile, the charging stations have been completed for No.18 bus with 1,260 kilowatt hours and 20 charging ports. The 3-5 hours charging can afford to the driving over 160km with air-conditioner (AC) and 250-300km without AC.
It is reported that Hefei municipal Party committee and government quite value energy-saving, environment as well as independent innovation and develop and produce new energy vehicles, according to the requirements of the new industrial way. At present, Anhui Ankai Automobile Co., Ltd., Anhui JAC Coaches Co., Ltd. and Hefei Guoxuan High-tech Power Energy CO., Ltd researched and developed many new energy buses and cars in mass production.
