The First Electric Buses with Zero Pollutant Run in Nanjing in Jiangsu

www.chinabuses.org: In the afternoon of 30 January 2010, the first 3 electric buses with zero pollutant formally run in the Jiangsu province.
It is known that these electric 12-meter buses with zero pollutant are equipped with battery power, 38 seats and the passenger capacity of 77 people. The ticket price remains the same as that of the ordinary buses. It takes 3 hours in charging and can afford to 150 kilometers driving with the speed of 85 kilometers per hour. The cost is around 234,400 USD, the forth times than that of the ordinary buses. The relevant charging equipments take over 586,000 USD.
It is reported that there will be about 10 electric buses to be applied in Nanjing and 4 charging stations will be built up in Olympic Sports Center, Hexi, Jiangning and Xianlin.
