FAW gas-electric hybrid power buses

Since 2001, FAW has started to research and develop the hybrid power buses and experienced the development of three rounds of sample vehicles in function, performance and product Finally it sets up hybrid power assembly, electronically controlled engine and the technology system centering AMT system with its own intellectual property rights.

FAW specially developed Jiefang CA6120URH2 gas-electric hybrid power buses on account of rich resources in gas and bus gas stations in Changchun and obtained the order of first 100 units from Changchun Public Transport Group in 2009. On 6 April 2009, new Jiafang CA6120URH2 gas-electric hybrid power buses launched in Zhongshi base and formally manufactured on 19 November 2009. On 1 February 2010, the first 50 buses were delivered to Changchun Public Transport Group for operation. FAW realized the first launching of gas-electric hybrid power buses in batch quantity in China even in the world. It is known that CA6120URH2 gas-electric hybrid power buses specially produced for Changchun are 12-meter long and equipped with double axles parallel structure with the features of simple formation, low cost and convenient maintenance. The fuel saving ratio of this model comes to 31 %( in the national standard working condition) and carbon emission reduces over 30% compared with the conventional buses. Currently, its technology takes leading in China even in the world.

Between 2005 and 2006, two FAW 11-meter hybrid power buses have been applied for demonstration in Changchun with the mileage of more than 60 thousand kilometers for single unit. And then FAW hybrid power buses served 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, 2009 Dalian Davos Forum and first operated in batch in Dalian.

It is known that there will be 50 gas-electric hybrid power buses to be applied in Changchun in this year.
