It is known that currently, ZF series AMT AS Tronic products are applied broadly in commercial vehicles. Either AS Tronic for heavy-duty trucks or AS Tronic mid and AS Tronic lite for medium and light duty trucks are well-known for convenient control, safety and good economy. So are eTronic automatic transmission for van trucks as well as TC Tronic transmission for heavy duty trailers.

AS Tronic series transmissions are the first option for European builders such as Iveco, DAF, MAN, Renault and Volvo for automated shift transmission (AST). In Western Europe, more than 50% new long distance commercial vehicles are equipped with ZF-AS Tronic transmissions mainly because of the high fuel economy: the automatic transmission always enables engine to work within optimum revolution range. The torque range of 12-speed AS Tronic transmissions covers from 1,600 to 3,100 Nm. Meanwhile, 16-speed transmission is capable of more close detailed speed arrangement for the engines with torque less than 26,00Nm. In addition, many bus builders apply ZF-AS Tronic in modern coaches. In technology, AS Tronic mid with pneumatic shift is 12-speed transmission based on heavy-duty AS Tronic. ZF promoted AS Tronic mid transmission with torque range from 800 to 1,600 Nm. This medium AS Tronic transmission has been used in Man TGM series and new Eurocargo by Iveco.

 

AS Tronic Lite


ZF-ASTronic-Lite-AMT 

 

6-speed AS Tronic lite was developed based on ZF-Ecolite manual transmission, applicable to light-duty trucks and buses with the torque of 500-1,050 Nm. Different from AS Tronic products, AS Tronic lite adopt electrohydraulic shift module, in other words, it can work without air compressor transmission. The advantage of automatic shift can be full shown in the transportation vehicles. In city traffic, it means more comfort and safety that no need to operate clutch and shift, actually, drivers can fully focus on road traffic.

 

This transmission is also the base of ZF hybrid power driven power. The forthcoming "ZFHyTronic" totally cope with daily operation.

 

 eTronic

ZF offers eTronic automatic transmission for light-duty commercial vehicles with gross weight of less than 7 tons. This 6-speed transmission is equipped with direct gear or over gear and high-integration system. All units including cable interface are integrated as a whole.

 

Today, with the deep cooperation of ZF Friedrichshafen AG with domestic mainstream bus builders such as Higer Bus and Youngman Bus for ZF series AMT AS Tronic and user market promotion in Hangzhou passenger transport and Wenzhou passenger transport. ZF AMT will make good performance in control and fuel economy for China customers.
