www.chinabuses.org: During World Expo 2010, 1,017 new energy auto vehicles run across Shanghai, about 10,000 tons of fuel and 28,400 tons of greenhouse gases.
Chinese government has subsiding customers buying new energy vehicles, and auto makers may finally be subsided. For example, 36,000 RMB will be given to the citizens to buy Chana hybrid car.
To some extent, most China new energy auto makers are still on the very beginning stage for shortage of investment and small scale, and subsidies form government can surely speed up the trends.
In the future three years, central government will invest 10bn RMB to support development of new energy auto products.
Sources from BYD said that technology and infrastructures will be largely improved once policy and markets are mature.
Foton invested 500,000,000RMB to establish domestically advanced energy-saving and emission reduction research center in 2005. Sales for new energy buses have already taken 35% of Foton sales volumes in 2009.
Beijing government invested five billion Yuan to set up new energy auto alliance last year and also the first domestic new energy vehicle design and manufacturing center. Currently they can produce 5,000 new energy buses and 400,000 engines per year.
Actually China have many advantaes on developing new energy vehicles. Lithium ion battery technology is internationally advanced, and over 70% of REPM (rare earth permanent magnet) are producing in China. So we have resources, technology as well as markets, which are incomparable all over the world.
