Linyi City launched policies to boost development of new energy industry this year. And there are demonstrating running of Zhongwen Yixing pure electric buses and double-decker pure electric buses on K10 line. There are as many as sixty pure electric city buses running in Linyi till now, and they plan to operate 300 electric city buses before 2010.

After half-year monitoring on sixty Zhongwen pure electric city buses, Linyi public transport company concluded that compared with diesel city buses, the pure electric buses are purely powered by electricity with zero emission, which plays an important role on improving air conditions. It is estimated that 1000 Zhongwen pure electric buses can reduce consumptions on carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and oxynitride up to 19,585 tons, 130 tons and 123 tons. In addition, Zhongwen Bus can large reduce noise and failure rate.
In terms of operation costs, Zhongwen buses can consume less than diesel engine buses during the half year tests. The price for each Zhongwen pure electric city bus is about 1.3 million Yuan, and they can run as far as 200 km, and their daily fees on electricity is 165 Yuan, and diesel buses consume about 484 Yuan a day. And as much as 116,400 Yuan will be saved compared with diesel engine buses.
