Zonda Produces Batteries in Mass Production

www.chinabuses.org:Zonda Automobile Group announced that it has realized the mass production of batteries for new energy buses, which owns the full intellectual property of the power cell technology.
Zonda Bus mastered the key technology for new energy buses: batteries, motor and electric control system and the world level of manufacturing of complete vehicles. It is deeply impressive that Zonda JLY6110SE electric bus can ran 500 kilometers on a single charge while usually the same type bus can drive about 200 kilometers in such condition.
On the Davos Forum in 2010, thirty Zonda electric buses served this international forum and obtained great approvals with outstanding performance. Zonda electric buses that are independently developed by Zonda Bus are equipped with the batteries (charging/discharging: more than 1000 times; service life: 500,000 kilometers; energy consumption: 4kW.h/100km.t). The batteries have passed through the national safety test of Plan 863 electric batteries for vehicles. The maximum speed of the buses reaches 110km/h and the maximum gradeability is 20 degree.
Through the successful operation, Zonda Bus further improved the power cell technologies and made plans for the mass production. The lithium ion battery Zonda Bus deployed is advantageous in high power, steady performance and the unit cell capacity comes to 500Ah. In the meantime, Zonda technicians created the battery management system with microcomputer to make sure the regulated voltage and enhance service life. Such achievement is the breakthrough of discharging of heavy current and ultralow temperature heavy load.
In order to speed up the launching of electric buses, Zonda Group invested the lithium ion battery manufacturing company and currently offered the batteries for 3000 electric buses in Phase One. Phase Two is under the construction for 10,000 buses. In addition, the production base for new energy buses has been formally built up and will be started for production by 2011, referring to the total investment of 3 billion Yuan. Zonda conventional buses and new energy buses will be made in the separate production lines then. It is planed that the scale of production is 3000 units in the initial stage. Yancheng Production Base of New Energy Buses will be the demonstration base of China new energy technologies.
