Production & Sales of Higer New Energy Buses up to 5000 units end in Next Five Years

By the end of the period of 'Twelfth Five-year Plan', the production and the sales volume of new energy buses will come to 5000 units." It is introduced that it has developed electric medium coaches for ten years with Tsinghua Unviersity since 1999 and the first hybrid power bus with Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2002 and the first generation of hydrogen cell power city bus with Tsinghua Unviersity in 2006.
By far, Higer Bus has 50 new energy city buses in operation. According to Xie Feiming, there have been 40 Higer hybrid power and electric buses in Suzhou and 3 hybrid power city buses in Haikou.
"We rank No.2 in China bus industry with large and medium buses and put forward that the market position of Higer new energy buses should comply with the rating of the company. In the coming 3 to 5 years, the market demand on new energy buses is great and possibly 1000 units in one city. Therefore, we are confident of this objective." Based on the orders in Jiangsu Province, Higer Bus will extend its products in the cities such as Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen.
Integrated Innovation
Higer Bus closely combines the efforts of enterprises, universities and research institutes and cooperated with various colleges, institutions and component suppliers such as Shanghai Jiaotong University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Yuchai and CSR Times from 2008 to 2010, developing electric drive system and control system of the complete vehicles.
Also, it is believed by the executives that it is key factor to master the technology of controllers to develop new energy vehicles. At the beginning of this year, Higer Bus specially set up the New Energy Electric Drive System Company and the team specializes in the development and improvement of the control systems, led by three doctors. Chen Lijian, the Head of New Energy Brach of Technology Center of Higer Bus said that, "Recently, we will launch the hybrid power buses equipped with the independently developed controllers by us and deliver the buses to the transit companies in Suzhou in succession."
Since the last half of last year, Higer Bus strengthened the promotion of new energy buses and will launch parallel-serial
hybrid electric vehicles, AMT hybrid power, plug-in hybrid power and electric buses to meet the various requirements.
In the meantime, Xie Feiming revealed that Higer Bus will further extend the industry chain and develop motor system after the improvement of the controllers and electric controllers. He mentioned that, "The motors will be produced by other companies based on our drawing and we develop and manufacture the motor controllers by ourselves."
