Alfa Bus Focuses on Developing BRT and Pure Electric Buses

www.chinabuses.org: Sales of Alfa Bus increased by 65% in 2010, adding their new order secured in January for nearly 300 buses, their total revenues will amount to 120 million Yuan.
Alfa Bus is making every effort to develop pure electric, BRT and natural gas buses. They produced 70 pure electric buses, nearly 400 BRT, and 250 pure electric buses.
Alfa Bus has always been sensitive for market needs. In 2002, when China pure electric bus markets were still rather small, they deemed that the development of pure electric buses would be rather promising, so they invested a lot to develop the first domestic pure electric bus. In 2007, Alfa Bus started to cooperate with Neoplan to develop BRT products. After test running in Changzhou and Wuhan, BRT proved to be rather useful to solve city traffic problems. Alfa 18-meter BRT buses have been running for fifteen million km in Changzhou with 142,350,000 passengers carried. And Changzhou BRT also became the sample rapid transport line in China. Chang production and sales of Alfa 12-meter above BRT buses quadrupled in 2010, ranking top three in China.
This year, Alfa Bus will invest more on developing pure electric buses after mastering three core technologies.
