China City Bus Markets Grows Fast in 2010

www.chinabuses.org: Sales of city buses in each month were at least 30% higher in 2010 than that of 2009. And the sales growth in the second half year were 15-25%.

Sales of 11-12-meter city buses increased by 31.2% last year, and 3,577 more 11-12-meter city buses increased in 2010. These city buses are also the main city bus models running in cities, showing that markets needs for truck lines in China were the biggest last year.
The reason for the growth can be summarized that: the general good economic environment in medium and big cities provided a good condition for sales growth of 11-12-meter city buses.
empty loading rate for 11-12-meter city buses are generally low, and these buses have high cost-performance ratio, and city government prefers investing such city buses in city truck lines.
Cost-performance ratio of BRT are not as good as expected, more and more city government found that their investments on BRT cannot get paid well, and these BRT lines are going to be replaced by 11-12-meter city buses.
