2011 City Bus Drivers Fuel Saving Skills Competition Starts in April

www.chinabuses.org: On 29 March, the press release of 2011 City Bus Drivers Fuel Saving Skills Competition was held in Shanghai, which is themed by "Benefits from Fuel Saving, Green Bus" and will formally start in April. The preliminary contests take place in 31 cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin, two winners from each city will be qualified to attend the final contest.
According to the latest statistics, the number of the operated city buses reaches 450,000 units in China in 2010. If 4 liters conserved for each bus, around 650 million liters fuel can be saved, referring to 4.6 billion Yuan RMB (7 Yuan per liter) and 2 billion liters carbon dioxide reduced. Such competition will contribute to the low-carbon and the environment protection.
In face of the national appeal for energy-saving, the concept of "Benefits from Fuel Saving, Green Bus" was promoted in China bus industry for both social and economic effect. In the meantime, more attention will be paid to bus drivers and public transport business through this competition.
