www.chinabuses.org: On 16 April 2011, the ground-breaking ceremony of Zhongtong New Energy & Energy-saving Bus Production Base was grandly held in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province. The construction of new plants will lay the milestone for the development of Zhongtong Bus.

The base is located in Liaocheng Economic Development Zone, covering an area of 60.4 hectares and refers to the total investment of 1.138 billion Yuan RMB. It will offer the annual production of 10,000 new energy buses and 20,000 energy-saving buses. The project proceeds in two phases: the annual output of 12,000 large and medium buses will be formed and plant, technology center, supporting facilities and will be built in Phase One.
The plan is based on the actual industry condition and the manufacturing concept of European bus builders to make sure the leading level in the industry, even the world, as for automation, production and quality control. 811inspection as well as auxiliary equipments will be purchased. The sales revenue comes to 12 billion Yuan (800 billion Yuan for income tax) due to the project.
