Foton Becomes the First Chinese Auto Brand in India

www.chinabuses.org: Beiqi Foton Automobile Company has officially publicized that Foton has signed the “Understanding Memorandum” with the Indian local government which means, in the future, the manufacture of the whole series of business automobile of Foton will be carried out in India.
It is known that Foton is the first Chinese automobile company that invests and builds factories in India. At present, Foton has developed a set of globalized training system for the employees in India and staffs sent overseas, which has already been implemented. Among the staffs of the Foton Indian Department, 90% of them are native. Indian factory, as it is adjacent to Middle East and Africa, will also become the important exporting base overseas of Foton.
As the Foton general manager Wang Jinyu says, in accordance with the Foton “5+3+1” strategy， Foton will, before 2015, finish building factories in the five rising countries namely India, Russia, Brazil, Mexico and Indonesia, and also, through manufacturing high-end vehicles and engines, achieve the market breakthrough in the area of North America, EU and Japan and Korea.
It is reported that Indian project is the key part of the implementation of the strategic plan “Foton Auto 2020”. In accordance with this plan, by 2020, the sales volume of Foton Automobile will have exceeded 4 million, Foton Automobile will have completed the layout of the global market and industry and the overseas sales volume will have accounted for 30% of the total.
