www.chinabuses.org: According to statistics of China registered buses in the first quarter this year, China new energy buses are developing rather fast. With development of "Ten City and Thousand Vehicles" project, domestic new energy bus makers like Wuzhoulong made rapid progress on control system, electrical machine and fuel cells.
648 new energy buses were sold out in the first quarter, including 247 pure electric buses and 401 hybrid buses, up 47%, 40% and 52%. However, growth of hybrid buses was 12% than that of pure electric buses. And city buses are still the main needs for new energy buses, for their frequent stops, low speed and longer period of non-running engines.
Sales of Ankai pure electric buses were booming in the first quarter, whereas sales of Sunwin decreased dramatically. And these may be due to the influences of World Expo in Shanghai and surging development of Anhui Province, where Ankai Bus is located.
Shenzhen Wuzhoulong Bus is the leading hybrid bus maker in the first quarter, with market shares as high as 51.9%, much higher than other bus makers. The needs for the upcoming 26th Universiade cannot be omitted, but this is mainly for high fuel-prudent, reliable and excellent Wuzhoulong buses. Wuzhoulong buses can keep vehicle body from rusting for eight years, and their latest bus body which can retain non-variant and anti-rusting for thirty years with cooperation with Britain ADL.
