Sales Volume of the New Energy Bus Increases in the First Quarter

www.chinabuses.org: According to the statistical analysis that the buses, in the first quarter of 2011, have registered in the Public Security Organs, the new energy bus has entered into the period of rapid development. The factors that the support of the national policy, the deepening of the application of the Ten Cities & One Thousand Buses, the rapid progress that New Energy Bus Companies have made in the aspect of control system, motor and battery technology and the soaring of the international oil price have all promoted the growth of the new energy bus sales volume.
In the first quarter of 2011, 648 new energy buses were sold among which 247 were pure electric buses and 401 were hybrid buses. Compare with the sales volume of the same period last year that new energy bus 441, pure electric bus 177 and hybrid bus 264, the sales volume of new energy bus, pure electric bus and hybrid bus has increased by 47%, 40% and 52% respectively. The growth of the hybrid bus is 12% faster than that of the pure electric bus, which has clearly indicates that, under the constraints of the subjective and objective factors, the hybrid bus is more suitable, than the pure electric bus, to the current national condition and enjoys more market favors.
In the first quarter, city public transportation is still the majority of the new energy bus, which is related to the characteristic of the use of the city public bus. The city public bus starts frequently and its average speed is slow, so the engine is under the state of non-economic consumption, which makes the consumption per 100 km is more than twice that of the touring bus and the emission of CO2 and NOx is three times that of the touring bus and thus the environment is greatly influenced. The characteristics of the city public bus, such as recycling of the energy when braking and the work of the electric motor when starting, have been comprehensively considered since the day that new energy bus has been produced.
In the first quarter of the 2011, the growth of electric bus is slower than that of the hybrid bus, but it is still very impressive from the aspect of the national average growth of the automobile industry.
Through the sales statistical analysis that the new energy buses have registered in more than 20 cities of the “Ten City & One Thousand Buses” in the first quarter, Shenzhen, Zhuzhou and Hefei is in the forefront of the country, Shenzhen standing out in particular. In accordance with the “Implementation Solutions of the Demonstration and Promotion of the Shenzhen energy-saving and New Energy bus (2009-2012)”, by 2012, 3000 hybrid buses and 1000 pure electric buses will be put into operation.
If we calculate, using the standard of 80 thousand km per year and per vehicle and the diesel price is 8500 RMB per ton, 3000 hybrid buses could save 32928 tons of diesel per year and 43556 tons of emission have been reduced, that is to say, 0.27 billion RMB will be saved; 1000 pure electric buses could save 38400 tons of diesel and 17755 tons of emission will be reduced, that is to say, 0.29 billion RMB will be saved.
