Foton Sets up Branch Company for New Energy Vehicles

www.chinabuses.org: On 8 June 2011, Foton Motor announced that it has set up the new energy branch to accelerate the development of its new energy vehicles, which mainly refers to the technical development and the manufacturing of auto battery management system, electronic control management system, motor, recharging stations, charging pillars.
As the only new energy commercial vehicle builder and seller in China, Foton Motor holds “new energy vehicles” as one of its main business during the period of the twelfth “five-year plan” (2011-2015). According to the announcement, Foton has signed the order with Hunan Public Transport Company for 15 AUV hybrid power buses, also the purchasing agreement with three companies such as Changsha Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd for 1060 electric vehicles (chassis included). In addition, Foton plans to invest 1.2 billion Yuan on the producing of new energy vehicles in Zhongshan City, Shandong Province and the base will offer the annual output of 20000 new energy special vehicles then.
