Booming Russian Market for China Bus Builders

www.chinabuses.org: According to the related statistics data, it has exported 2800 China buses & coaches (with above 30 seats) to Russia in Jan.-Apr. 2011, including the products from Ankai Bus, Higer Bus, Yutong Bus, King Long Bus and Zhongtong Bus.
Xie Weiguo, Overseas Sales Manager of King Long Bus showed that King Long has the certificate for its four models (tourist coaches) for the Russian market, was applying for the certificate for highway and city buses, in accordance with Euro Ⅳ standard (Euro Ⅳ standard will be implemented in Russia since 2012). It is known that Russian government offers some subsidy for the customers purchasing the motor vehicles (Euro Ⅳ) in advance, which will stimulate sales in 2011.
Different from other markets, it is a continuously steady market in Russia and has a high demand on commercial vehicles due to its vast territory and economic level. However, some bus builders from Japan and Europe have yet cooperated with the local automobile producers before. Therefore, China bus builders hold ambivalence over this market.
Some opinions should be considered for the good achievements in this market: firstly, don’t have blind belief of price war; secondly, insisting on good service, setting up complete sales & after-sales network, in particular when some cases results in unfavorable images for China buses; thirdly, diverse ways for exporting such as cultivating proper local dealers and accumulating technology and human resources for the local production by the way of KD; finally it is vital to deal with the relationship with the local government.
Many overseas directors optimistically believed that, “It will be better in 2011 then 2010, although the gloomy market in last two years.”
