NDRC: Focusing on the Development of New Energy Vehicles in 2011-2015

www.chinabuses.org: National Development and Reform Commission (hereafter NDRC) is drawing up“Plan on the development of national strategic new industry for 2011-2015”with the related departments to promote rapid and sound development of new industries.
According to Zhang Xiaoqiang, deputy director of NDRC, the current strategic new industry mainly include four respects: energy-saving, environment protection and new energy industry capable of effectively releasing the pressure of the relationship among economy, resources and environment; new generation of information technology to speed up social informatization; bioindustry to improve people’s health and modern agriculture; high-end manufacturing equipments, new materials and new energy vehicles to enhance the core competitiveness of the manufacturing industry.
The Plan will clearly define the development objective: in the first phase, the basic style of the strategic new industry has been formed, the industry innovation capability enhances dramatically, innovation environment improves better, the status of international division of labor obviously rises and growth of GDP from about 4% in 2010 to 8% by 2015; in the second phase, the value added of the new industries shall come to around 15% of GDP, energy-saving & environment protection, new information technology, biography, high-end equipment manufacturing grow as the pillar industry, new energy, new material, new energy vehicles as the leading industry; in the third phase, the overall innovation and development of the new industry come to the world advanced level, offering powerful support on the economic and the social sustainable development by 2030.
