50 AUV Electric Buses Promote Zero Emission in Beijing

www.chinabuses.org: At the end of this June, Foton Motor has delivered 50 AUV electric buses to Beijing Public Transport Company and these buses have been operated since 1 July, contributing to the National Project “Ten Cities & One Thousand Units”.

Electric Buses Open New Era for Zero Emission
Since foundation, Foton New Energy Brach is dedicated to the development and the application of new energy bus technology, actively participating into the national projects. Till now, AUV buses cover the wide range of fuel cell, electric and hybrid power city buses. Based on the mature chassis for the existing fuel-electric hybrid power city buses, Foton electric city buses are outfitted with high-performance lithium-ion batteries, AC asynchronous motor or permanent magnet synchronous motor, AMT and automatic mechanical transmission.

The lithium-ion battery fixed on AUV electric city buses are featured with light weight, high energy capacity, long cycle life and in particular, the battery system promote the high safety of city buses for complete function of monitoring. In addition, fast replacement system of power battery module facilitates the convenient service of electric city buses and the reducing of operation cost. According to the related experts, the energy-saving and the emission-reducing effect of Foton new energy buses is obvious, 27% down for nitric oxide and 19% down for particulate matter.
