Strong Frist Half of 2011 for MAN

www.chinabuses.org:MAN has had a strong first half of 2011. In this period, the value of its order intake increased 22% year on year to €8.8bn. The number of buses ordered rose 9% to 3,041, nearly 400 more than in the first half of 2010, when 2,789 were ordered. The current order book represents a revenue of €660m against €592m last year.
The company attributes most of the rise to improved order levels for coaches. 2,598 buses were completed in the same period giving revenue of €572m, against €532m in the first half of 2010 and delivering a significant increase in operating profit to €11m, against €1m in a year ago.
MAN expects full year revenue growth in 2011 of 10% to 15% and a return on sales exceeding its average long term target of 8.5%.
