As of the end of 2010, 1401 units Foton AUV hybrid power buses have been sold, as the first new energy automobiles with industrialization and commercialization in China. In Jan. 2011, Foton Moton revealed that this company won the order of 111 units of BJ6123 fuel-electric AUV hybrid power buses from Taiwan again after 75 units in 2009. In December 2008, Foton signed the purchasing agreement with Beijing Public Transport Company for 800 units AUV hybrid power buses, the biggest order of new energy vehicles in China by far.
In the meantime, Foton Motor has launched new energy vehicles such as AUV electric buses, electric sanitation trucks and electric taxis, showing its technical advantages of new energy vehicles. As of the end of 2010, 150 units AUV electric buses have been sold, 1060 units electric sanitation trucks and 50 units electric taxis have been delivered to customers. At present, Foton Motor has referred to 48 models of new energy vehicles and will cover the all range of the related products in two or three years.
At the annual business meeting 2011, Foton Motor announced that it would set up the plants in the overseas countries such as Brazil, Mexico, India, Russia and Thailand and sold products in the local markets and the countries nearby, having had more than 40 overseas dealers. Also, this company revealed its overseas sales strategy of “5+3+1”, 5 means 5 overseas countries (Russia, India, Brazil, Mexico and Indonesia) where Foton Motor will build up the plant with the annual output of 100,000 units by 2015; 3 represents North America, European Union and Japan where Foton Motor will make some breakthrough; 1 means the headquarter of Foton Motor in Beijing where the new global innovation center will be established. By 2015, the overseas sales volume aims at 500,000 units, accounting for 28% of the total and 1,500,000 units, taking about 38% of the total by 2020.
