FAW hybrid buses
FAW new energy buses are mainly two types which are 12m series oil & electricity used or gas & electricity used hybrid bus. As for the pure electric bus, it is still on research and small batch production stage. At present, FAW new energy buses have put into operation in many big cities such as 200 units of hybrid buses in Changchun, 262 units of hybrid buses in Dalian, 20 units of hybrid buses in Kunming ect. In addition, this year, Chengdu ordered 110 sets of new energy bus
In early 2011, FAW Dalian new energy buses production base has been formally put into production which has the annual production capacity of 5000 units of new energy buses. Up to now, FAW has manufactured 500 units of various kinds of new and energy saving buses which mainly are sold to its surrounding city such as Dalian and Liaoning.
It is also learned that FAW has put most efforts on its new energy bus’ production, research and development in its early period which is divided into 4 stages: From 2002 to 2004, FAW spent time on its new energy buses’ researching, developing and manufacturing; From 2004 to 2006, by a large number of trial, the function and performance of the buses had bee promoted greatly; From 2006 to 2008, two years’ new energy bus trial operation was the third stage and achieved the overall successful operating; It is 2008 that the new energy bus of FAW was officially launched on the market.
