According to the media report, the budget subsidies of Chinese Ministry of Finance on the new energy vehicles was RMB 5.00 billion, but after a year subsidies pilot, the really amount for the private to buy new energy vehicles financial subsidies was less than RMB 0.10 billion which was only about 2% of the budget subsidies. But now, Chinese Ministry of Finance will also put on more budget subsidies on new energy buses which will attract the enterprises to put more efforts on the development of the new energy buses but surely most enterprise adopts a wait-and-see policy.
But Foton still persists in their new energy dream. Since 2008, the accumulative sales total amount of new energy vehicle reaches 5,217 units, including the pure electric vehicles 3,908 units, which accounts for 75% of the total sales amount. The sales growth of average orders quantity is more than 70% each year which makes Foton becomes one of the largest demonstration vehicle production enterprises in the pure electric vehicle market. So far, in 2011, Foton has received nearly 3,000 units of new energy vehicle orders, including pure electric bus 1,117 units, hybrid buses 219 units. It is believed that Foton new energy vehicles have been accepted by overseas market but they still have the long way to go in the future.
