There are five topics in the speech: 1. Stage of R&D and Demonstration of New-energy Vehicles; 2. Roadmap of Development of New-energy Vehicle Industry; 3. Development of Pure-electric Vehicles; 4. Development of Hybrid Buses; 5. Industrialization and standardization of Electric Vehicle Industry.
1. Stage of R&D and Demonstration of New-energy Vehicles
As the growth of world population, the number of vehicles increases, which aggravates environmental problems. The government starts supporting the development of new-energy vehicles: from 2006 to 2011, the government attached importance to the development of new-energy vehicles and 7 strategic emerging industries in 2010 was closely connected with new-energy vehicles etc.
2. Roadmap of Development of New-energy Vehicle Industry
The development of new-energy vehicles is divided into two phases: 1. transition strategy (including energy-saving and emission-reduction technologies and devices, AMT, bimoment transmission and hybrid vehicles etc); 2. transformation strategy (including alternative fuel and new-generation power system).
3. Development of Pure-electric Vehicles
Professor said there were four advantages for developing pure-electric vehicles in China. As for the bottlenecks, the key one was battery technology, and then charging stations.
4. Development of Hybrid Buses
As a transition product, hybrid vehicles are recognized by many insiders, however, Professor CHEN said it was difficult to promote hybrid passenger vehicles due to patent protection system of foreign technologies while hybrid buses were relatively easier to be promoted.
5. Industrialization and Standardization of Electric Vehicles
Professor CHEN said China had its advanced standards on electric vehicles. MIIT issued 6 standards in 2010, 4 of which were related to the hotspot-charging system and Japan, Europe, America and China were coordinating on the four standards.
