During the forum, as a great representative of China's outstanding private entrepreneurs, President of Zonda Group Xu Liankuan gave a speech on Sino-U.S. new energy vehicles cooperation prospect. The theme of the speech by President Xu is enterprise's responsibility and cooperation model between two countries in the new energy industry under the low carbon economy. In recent years, responding to global environmental protection respectively, China and America are expanding new fields of cooperation about low carbon economy, such as renewable energy sources, clean energy sources, intelligent power grid, energy efficiency in buildings, new energy buses all of which are becoming new cooperative windows of Sino-U.S. economic trade and technique cooperation.
In the new energy bus international cooperation, through earlier stage negotiation, both sides reached an aggreement that 5000 units of pure electric bus would be produced in the production factory which lied in capital of the state of Idaho. This project will start in May 2012 which is expected to 18-24 months to finish.
In 2008, the first generation of Zonda pure electric bus showed its trends and prospects. On July 16th of 2009, the second generation of Zonda pure electric bus’ 500 km demonstration operation in Beijing was successfully finished. In September of 2009, the third generation of Zonda pure electric bus served the Tianjin Summer Davos Forum showing its leading technology and comfortable environmental driving. After that, Zonda pure electric bus became the first commercial pure electric buses in China, and gained the "Energy Saving and New Energy Bus Promotion & Application List". Each successful progress shows Zonda pure electrical bus' advantages in the auto industry.
