www.chinabuses.org:Recently, China's leading bus manufacturer King Long Company has had its XMQ6900Y pass the first Front 100% Overlap Rigid Walls Impact Test in proving ground of the Ministry of Communications, where expers and enterprise engineers witnessed the whole process.
King Long XMQ6900Y was 9 metenzrs long and weighed 9000 kg. With 30 km/h, impact energy was 312.55 kj, to be equivalent to twice of the energy that a 1.5-ton passeneger car hit with 50 km/h.
After the impact, the bus bounced backward 5m. Except for the falling of wing mirrors and smashing of windshields, there were neither obvious deformation of front wall frame nor intrusion into driver's space. Dummies in the first row were normally seated. Side window of the driver's, passener doors and side windows were intact. The test concluded that King Long XMQ6900Y reached the standards of ECER29.
