Xiang Dihai, the director of Economic Construction Department of Ministry of Finance revealed the central government will continue to allocate funds to expand the hybrid bus operation areas, which change from 25 cities to all over China.


In order to boost its underdeveloped electric vehicle industry, the central government will do the following main work to achieve a goal of making the industry more competitive in the global marketplace.


To increase energy-saving and new energy vehicle technology research and development and to support the development of the industrialization of new- energy vehicles. To subsidize customers' buying new-energy vehicles, the plan said. In May, the government announced that it would offer 26.5 billion yuan in subsidies, mainly for energy-saving vehicles and household appliances.


To expand the hybrid bus operation and promotion areas, based on the two years' trial operation of the hybrid bus products. Now the state council agreed to expand the hybrid bus operation areas changing from 25 cities o all over China.


According to the report said only a few companies have participated in construction of support facilities, such as charging stations. Data cited in the report indicated that only 168 charging stations had been built in 25 trial cities as of 2011.
