From these two events, it is known that Ankai Bus is now concentrating on the exporting and the new energy buses.

The current national market demands for 400 thousand coaches per year, half of which are buses for public transportation. Due to the increasing concern about energy saving and environmental protection, the new energy buses has been welcomed in cities with policy support and is going to hit the market in five years with the expanded demand of 50,000 to 150,000 per year. Judging from this trend, the 6000 new energy buses will hardly fulfill the demand, according to a staff member from Ankai. Although the price of the bus is averagely 1 million yuan higher than ordinary coach, the later cost is only 1/5 of that of the latter. With lower battery cost and more convenient charging facilities, the new energy buses is to enjoy vigorous popularization momentum in the near future.
According to Cheng Xiaoping, the vice-general manager of Ankai Bus, it is known that the first stage construction of the new energy base will put into production at the end of 2013 and the second stage construction will be finished in the first half year of 2014. The new base mainly produces pure electric buses and hybrid buses as well as the drive motor and other new energy components. Ankai Bus will continue to work with the battery suppliers on improving the better performance of the new energy buses.
Ankai Bus has been developing and researching on new energy buses since 2003. In this year, the sales volume of Ankai pure electric buses are nearly 1,000 units. The buses are now running in 23 cities in China, keeping the largest market share of national electrical buses.
